Enchanted Acres Releases its Fall 2016 Events Schedule
September 1, 2016
The countdown to the beginning of the 2016 pumpkin season is underway! Enchanted Acres will open for the season on Friday, Sept. 16. Our new hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM.
This season we've got another fun-filled Schedule of Events in store. We’re bringing back our guests’ favorite events and adding a few new ones to the schedule. Creative Spirits will help us kick off the 2016 season with a canvas painting workshop for both kids and adults on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 18! We’ve selected Autumn View and Kevvy M as the designs. Class sizes are limited, so click here to reserve your spot today!
The last weekend of September will be packed full of fun. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 24, when Enchanted Acres presents the 2nd Annual Fall Ball to benefit Make-a-Wish. Last year I had a chance to meet some Make-a-Wish families, and I have to tell you, I’ve never been more inspired. These kids are so brave, and the Make-a-Wish organization helps give their families the support and hope needed to fight their battles. It was so much fun last year, watching kids just be kids. Hopefully, Mother Nature will deliver another beautiful fall day to make this year’s event equally successful.
New to the Fall Ball this year, the Dragonfire Dancing Horses will perform at 11 AM and 1:30 PM. The West Fork Dance Team will once again offer face painting from 9 AM to 1 PM. Black Dog BBQ will offer lunch with menu items that will appeal to every member of the family. “Nibbles” our resident Pygmy goat will be available for photo opps, and hayrides will be offered throughout the day.
Then on Sunday, Sept. 25, we’ll host the 4th Annual “Fresh on the Farm” farm crawl with two other host farms in Franklin County. See why fresh is best! You’ll have a chance to sample vine-ripened tomatoes, homemade pumpkin butter, locally produced honey and homemade treats. This is the one day of the year that we offer samples of Train Wreck wines, so be sure to stop out and give the new releases and proven favorites a try. The Iowa Grill food truck will be selling quintessential Iowa foods that day, their popular Poor Boy steak sandwich and grilled pork chops.
I’m especially excited about a new partnerships underway with Love & Luck Photography. Photographer Eric Suby will be announcing dates for fall family photo shoots at Enchanted Acres. He’ll also offer character experiences and take professional photos of children with backdrops including “Frozen.” Watch for his schedule to be released soon!
