Put Pork on Your Fork this Sunday at Enchanted Acres!
October 24, 2017
In honor of October being both National Pork and Pumpkin Months, we’ve teamed up with CommonGround Iowa to host Pork-Tober Fest at Enchanted Acres on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Enjoy a day of family fun on the farm and celebrate all things pork and pumpkin from 11 AM to 5 PM. There will be a variety of kid-friendly, pork-related games and activities. We’ll also offer hay rides, pumpkin decorating, face painting and a bounce house.
Kids at heart will enjoy samples of Train Wreck wines, as well as assorted jams and dip mixes. From 1 to 3 PM, three Iowa food bloggers will be serving samples of unique pork culinary creations:
Anita of Picnic Life Foodie will be serving samples of Thanksgiving Meatballs with Cranberry-Mustard Sauce.
Kaitlyn of My Farmer’s Wifee hasn’t yet decided whether she’s going to serve samples of Garlic Basil Pork Meatballs or chose a different recipe. You’ll have to come and see what she creates!
Take advantage of late-season sales on everything from Pumpkin Pie Dip to Thanksgiving décor. SAVE AT LEAST 25% ON EVERYTHING INSIDE THE MARKET. Some seasonal items are 40% off. All of our pumpkins, squash and gourds will be 50% off, too.
Continue celebrating at home with these links to some of my favorite recipes:
Harvest BBQ Pork Pulled Pork Sandwiches are served on game day or any busy day. I put the pork and seasonings in the crockpot before I leave home in the morning and walk into the most wonderfully smelling kitchen at the end of the day.
Classic Iowa Pork Tenderloin Sandwich is one of my son’s favorite meals. He’s been known to eat them after football games and even for breakfast! I keep packages of four loins in my freezer and Chicken in a Biskit® crackers on hand for this simple, quick-fix entrée.
