It’s hard to believe that we’re getting ready to open for our seventh season in 2018!
We’re looking forward to hosting our 4th Annual Fall Ball to Benefit Make-a-Wish Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 16. The theme of this year’s event is once again “Pirates and Princesses.” Children of all ages, from newborn to 100, are invited to don their favorite costumes. Our U PICK patch will be open for anyone who wants to pick their own pumpkins. We’ll also be offering a bounce house, pumpkin painting, face painting. The gate entry fee is $5 per person, and all of the proceeds on Sunday will be donated to Make-a-Wish, which helps children with life-threatening medical conditions experience real-life wishes.
This year we’re excited to announce Goat Yoga classes! Check out the dates and times for these three classes, which are posted in our Schedule of Events. We’ve also created Facebook events for goat yoga, cookie decorating, canvas painting and more. We’re continuing to add to this list, so stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates.
Also new this year is a life-sized play tractor. Kids can crawl in the front and slide out the back. They also can “tunnel their way” between the rear tractor tires. Thanks to the generosity of some Franklin County farmer this playset features real tires, plus a real tractor seat, steering wheel and smoke stack.
In addition, we’ve added three beautifully painted photo boards. Be sure to check out our new “How Tall This Fall?” photo board. Take a photo annually at this “Instagram Spot” to see just how much your little sprouts grow from year to year.
NOTE: Every Friday is “free gate.” You can enjoy our many amenities for free on this day of the week. Many North Iowans are making Enchanted Acres a meeting spot to shop inside The Market or pick pumpkins. Moms have started to make Enchanted Acres a meeting point on Fridays. While their kids keep busy on the playground or in the corn pool, they can enjoy a pumpkin spice latte and some adult conversation. The Marketplace Café is open on Fridays for beverages and pre-made snacks, but we don’t offer the full menu that is available on Saturday and Sunday. If you’re interested in enjoying lunch nearby, check out Sheffield’s finest: Block 10 at 1921 City Hall, Ridge Stone Grill and The Wharf.
We strive to provide unique experiences where people of all ages can experience the magic of fall activities. Each season we strive to provide new experiences for our guests. Over the years we’ve added:
Pumpkin decorating workshops
Trails through Pixie Hollow
The Market and The Marketplace Café
Books in the Barn story time
“Enchanted Times” free quarterly newsletter – you can sign up for your copy on EnchantedAcresIA.com
It’s our hope that a visit (or two or three!) becomes an annual tradition for you. Feel free to suggest workshop ideas and attractions. Your comments allow us to enhance the experiences we provide at Enchanted Acres… where memories grow!
