Let's keep our country beautiful – and safe for all animals – by properly disposing of trash and recyclables. Glass bottles, aluminum cans and Styrofoam takeout containers don’t decompose. Styrofoam products can persist in the environment for more than a million years. Plastic straws never decompose. Do the world a favor and start using reusable drinking cups and aluminum straws.
Americans use about 500 million straws each day, which equals the weight of 1,000 cars?
Kindly STOP throwing your trash along roadways. Tuck that leftover wrapper from granola and protein bars into your purse or your pocket. If you polish off a slice of breakfast pizza on your way to work, please properly dispose of the plastic bag.
Did you know one of my goats could suffocate (yes, die) from eating a plastic bag tossed out a window? A cute, little calf could die from eating the bag that blew away from a supermarket or big box store. Talk about a needless and excruciating death!Plastic kills animals.
We don’t often see its effects because trash is easily disguised in the tall grasses in road ditches, but it’s there and it’s problematic. Keep our country beautiful. Please, keep your trash where it belongs!
